Take Your Date On A Bar Crawl Downtown

bar crawl colorado springs

Beneath the majesty of the Rockies in the humbling shadow of Pikes Peak, Colorado Springs sprawls with possibilities–to hike in the morning, cave-dive by candlelight, picnic in the park–you name it, we’ve got it. And when the sun goes down, we’ve got a plan for that, too. Our downtown bar and brew pub scene rival Denver’s, so make it a date to taste what we’ve got on tap!

TONY’S on Tejon Street—known by locals as Colorado Springs’ nightlife district–is ideal for sports fans hoping to catch a game with their beer. TVs covering the walls indoors and one outdoors make for ample space to sip and stay a while. You and yours can play a game at one of two pool tables or make some new friends at the bar where the menu boasts Wisconsin-inspired fare. Tony’s is within walking distance of quite a few more bars to fulfill your barhopping fantasies. Come in between 4 and 6 pm on weekdays to enjoy happy hour prices.

SUPERNOVA ARCADE BAR has earned dive bar status, but we like to think of it as diving into fun; who wouldn’t want to play 80s-era arcade games while enjoying your favorite drink? Its original location on East Boulder Street isn’t the largest “barcade” in town. Supernova’s newly-opened second location on the West Side of town is, providing more seating and games. Get down with the locals at either convenient location. Happy hour is from 3 to 6 pm, so get there early!

THUNDER AND BUTTONS on West Colorado Avenue is a prime pick to quench your thirst for delicious craft brews and entertainment. This bar hosts a variety of events and weekly get-togethers including Trivia Night, Big Kid Bingo, and Weekend Karaoke. Enjoy a cocktail during happy hour, laugh with your beau, and explore the bar’s activity schedule for your next night out. If you’re feeling peckish, check the menu for a selection of interesting appetizers to share, like the hearty bowl of Elk Chili or the fresh Asian Quinoa Lettuce Wraps. Time your visit right to take advantage of nightly drinks and food specials.

Searching for a classy bar to bring your date? GOLDEN BEE on Lake Avenue, is our top pick for a gorgeous interior and incredible service. This upscale spot is a treat for the senses, with its luxurious interior design and furnishings reminiscent of a 19th-century British pub. But it’s not all for show; the handmade bar was transported plank-by-plank from the United Kingdom. To make a good thing even better, Golden Bee is less than two miles from Cheyenne Mountain Resort. Its large selection of delicious drinks is sure to help you take a load off after a long day of sightseeing.

Finally, head over for a happy hour in the classroom. Bristol Brewing’s headquarters has transformed what was once IVYWILD SCHOOL on West Cascade Avenue. The historic location is now a collection of brewpubs including The Principal’s Office and Axe and the Oak Whiskey House. As you make your way around the space, make sure to try some of Bristol's flagship beers including Laughing Lab, Beehive Honey Wheat, Red Rock Pale Ale, and Mass Transit Ale. What would the kids have thought?!

Want more? We’ve got more! Be sure to ask us about our favorite date night spots (non-alcoholic, too) when you book your stay at Cheyenne Mountain Resort. Just make sure you stay long enough to try them all! Come to Colorado Springs to make your date nights unforgettable.
