couples retreat in colorado springs

As we approach the fall shoulder season here in Colorado Springs, it’s the perfect time to make plans for the ultimate mountain retreat. It’s that time just after tourist season when the weather is close to perfect for almost any activity–indoor or out–you might want to try. What do you say? Make it a date with your sweetheart and reserve your stay at Cheyenne Mountain Resort today.

SCHEDULE TEE TIME

Surrounded by the jagged peaks of the Rocky Mountains, the Country Club of Colorado at Cheyenne Mountain Resort is an exceptional golf destination, boasting a championship course created by renowned golf course designer Pete Dye. With nearly 7,000 yards of immaculate greens, angled doglegs, and sprawling sandtraps, it’s a course that will entreat veteran and amateur golfers alike. Whether you’re looking to shore up your drive or shave strokes off your short game, PGA professionals are available on-site to help you reach your goals. We’ve got the gear you need, too. Stocked with high-end equipment, apparel, and accessories, our golf shop has everything from your classic Calloway clubs to golf boards. Ask our team how you can "Surf the Earth" on one of our new, innovative “golf carts.” The easy-to-ride, fully electric vehicles will add a whole new level of fun and excitement to your game.

DINE INSIDE A FANTASY

While there are countless dining options to tuck into downtown, we’d like to recommend one of the most unique date spots that’s all charm and fantasy. Nicknamed the “Wonderland of Colorado Springs,” The Rabbit Hole is a subterranean Alice in Wonderland-themed restaurant and bar that will treat your senses to a dreamy, mind-bending journey. To get to the upscale New American cuisine, enter the subway entrance on Kiowa Street that resembles a glass phone booth more than it does a traditional door. Don’t worry; the red neon sign is hard to miss. Once inside, you’ll be immersed in a world of gothic-style décor surrounded by murals of scenes from the original Alice and Wonderland film. Reservations fill up quickly, so call at least two weeks in advance.

GAWK AT THE GODS

No visit to Colorado Springs would be complete without a visit to the Garden of the Gods. Even for returning visitors, this geological wonder’s giant red rock formations boggle the mind and dazzle the senses. The park and visitor’s center are open daily and free to the public. Take a self-guided tour around the park and simply stare in awe at nature’s glorious creations. If you’re in the mood for a fitness challenge, consider climbing to the top of one of the giant red crags. You wouldn’t be alone; adrenaline junkies and athletes do it all the time by enlisting expert guidance from Front Range Climbing. You can sign up for a climbing tour at the Garden of the Gods visitor’s center. Of course, we won’t blame you for wanting to keep your feet on the ground; pack a lunch to eat at one of the park’s picnic areas instead or visit the park’s daytime café. For more information about these and other Colorado Springs activities, simply contact our friendly concierge. We’ll be happy to help you plan your stay!
