After two years of COVID-related cancellations, Colorado Springs will once again host its St. Patrick’s Day Parade. As long as the weather cooperates, 15 to 20 thousand people are expected to attend and we’d love you to be one of them!
Pack the sidewalks along Tejas Street or grab tickets for seats in the St. Pat’s Grand Stands to watch 100 floats travel south to Vermijo Avenue. Event organizers say the stream of floats will consist of the usual style and flair, representing area service clubs, local church groups, schools, youth organizations, marching bands, bagpipers, military reenactment groups, firefighters and an antique fire truck. It’s a 38 year old tradition that comes with a few extras. At 10 am, locals can run for gold in the Leprechaun Fun Run and 5K. It's known as the flattest 5k in Colorado Springs, and perhaps the most colorful; recommended attire includes kilts and your favorite green shirt. Following the 5K, it'll be time for the wee ones to take their marks. Kids can run a half-mile or mile-long course afterwards, at 11. Not feeling up for a run? Consider biking in The Pedalin’ St. Pat’s Family Ride. No matter how you choose to participate, everyone’s invited to the Trail’s End Taproom for a celebratory toast.
